Antivirus 09, AKA Antivirus09, is a clone of Antivirus 2008 among others such as System Antivirus 2008. This is a new rogue anti-spyware application that spreads through Trojans such as Vundo and Zlob. These Trojans are commonly found in porn/warez websites, and are disguised as video codecs. Upon installation on the PC, the user will begin receiving numerous pop-up ads warning of infections that supposedly exist on the PC. This is an attempt to persuade the user into purchasing the licensed version of the product, which is a fake. The user may be directed to websites like antivirus-best.com or premiumlivescan.com. These websites are fraudulent and capable of installing additional malware. The Trojan that installs Antivirus 09 has the ability to take control of your computer, and steal private information.

Recommended Action: Remove immediately
Manual removal of Antivirus 09 may be possible, but is not recommended. Disconnecting from the network and restarting of your PC is necessary. Upon restarting in safe mode, processes must be killed and registry files deleted.
