Memory Watcher is an adware program that will send your information to a controlling server, so as to display targeted pop-up ads. You will see more of these annoying distractions after Memory Watcher downloads itself to your computer. This program definitely crosses over the line of personal privacy vs. market research.
In addition, Memory Watcher may even download files to your computer without your knowledge!
It claims to be a program that will watch your memory usage so that you can see how much you are using and avoid a computer crash. In actuality, Memory Watcher will use up your resources and violate your privacy.
This program is fault-tolerant, which means it repairs itself when one or more of its files are deleted. It also sets many of its file attributes to “hidden” and “system” so that you will have a harder time finding and deleting it. It also generates random characters for its registry entries, and even changes those entries from time to time!
The only way you can be sure to get rid of Memory Watcher is to delete every associated file at once. This is hard to do without an anti-spyware program such as SpyZooka.
