MidAddle keeps tabs on the sites you visit so that it may “enhance your user experience by delivering targeted ads.”  In other words, it spies on what you’re doing and then annoys you with advertisements that stall your surfing speed!

MidAddle will track the sites you type into your browser, the keywords you search for, the forums you visit and the links that you click on.  It will then deliver advertisements in the form of “in-between pages.”  If you have ever tried to view a page, only to have a page-sized ad pop up and tell you “The page will load in 10 seconds.  Or click here to skip this ad,” your computer may be infected with MidAddle.

The way this works is that advertisers bid on certain keywords.  If you search for one of those keywords online while using an infected computer, you will see one of the annoying “Page will load in 10 seconds,” ads.

MidAddle will sometimes rename some of its files so that it can be hard to remove on your own.  We suggest a tool like SpyZooka to get rid of the infection.
