Proven Tactics is a spyware program disguised as a browser enhancing toolbar. In reality, the only use it really has for anyone is as an advertising engine for affiliate marketers. It was first discovered on February 1 of 2004.
Proven Tactics was created by Proven Internet Marketing. It is powered and distributed by http://software.proventactics.com/. It has to be manually downloaded, and so it is disguised as a search enhancing toolbar specific to Internet marketing. It is capable of being bundled with other adware and spyware programs.
Proven Tactics can automatically update itself without notification. As a result, it can download other software that you may not want. It also redirects your browser searches to its affiliate pages.
Proven Tactics is a dangerous spyware infection. You should remove it immediately if you get infected. Manual removal instructions are available, but they are to be used completely at your own risk.
