The malware called ASDPlugin makes alterations to modem settings so that the modem will connect to a predetermined (usually very expensive) phone number. Then the dialer opens Internet Explorer web browser and begins to download illicit content from the site. ASDPlugin also creates internet shortcuts on the Desktop as well as within the Start menu, and it changes the start page of Internet Explorer.
