The malware known as Coulomb Dialer makes unwanted changes to a computer’s modem settings. This allows the modem to try to connect with a very expensive phone number for the purpose of downloading pornographic materials. The Coulomb Dialer may present the user with a type of licensing agreement on the screen, attempting to have the user agree to exorbitant charges for unsolicited content.
