The SearchRover toolbar is a creation of a group called MivaDirect. SearchRover appears to be a helpful toolbar on the desktop that provides search engine, weather information, references, and other kinds of on-line capabilities. However, SearchRover is not intended to be a resource for the user, as it hijacks the computer’s Internet Explorer SearchAssistant, and also redirects the 404 error page straight to its own search site. SearchRover compromises the security and privacy of a computer.
