Despite a name which seems designed to make computer users feel a sense of ownership over it, Integrated Search Technologies’ YourSiteBar spyware toolbar tends to want to get far too intimate with their internet habits. IST even pays for people to find ways to get its toolbar installed. The YourSiteBar links itself to the Internet Explorer web browser. Spyware is then able to monitor every single website visited, and every internets search requested. All of this information may then be used to target specific – albeit unwanted – advertising to the user.
The YourSiteBar toolbar may be challenging to remove from a computer by traditional methods, searching file-by-file for offending spyware. However, modern anti-spyware programs make the elimination of these pesky files much easier. One of the best of these is SpyZooka, an anti-spyware system created by ZookaWare.
