adcadmin.dll Error Fix
What is adcadmin.dll?
The adcadmin.dll module is the User Manager Extension for the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Connector. Microsoft Exchange 5.5 has its own directory and the MS Exchange 2000 version has Active Directory. The Active Directory Connector allows the transition of Exchange 5.5 into Exchange 2000 or 2003. The adcadmin.dll module allows access to the Active Directory Connector in order to synchronize these services with Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5.
Active Directory Connector or ADC is made up of various components, Connection Agreements that identify what data needs replication the Service that runs identified Connection Agreements and the Microsoft Management Console or MMC.
The adcadmin.dll module enables a member of the Enterprise Administrators Group to modify anything in the Active Directory Connector. ADC’s task is replication of directory information between Active Directory and Exchange 5.5 like mailboxes, groups, and users. The adcadmin.dll module is relied on so that the administrator will be able to identify Connection Agreements.
In these agreements the servers involved are identified for the replication cycle, which direction, what objects are to be replicated, and when will data be replicated. Modification of the ADC requires permission that the adcadmin.dll module validates to have access to manage connectors. The coexistence of Exchange Server 5.5 with later versions can be allowed by deploying Active Directory Connector and configuring Connection agreements before introducing Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 to any site.
The adcadmin.dll module allows configuration of these so that all contact, all recipients, and all the distribution lists on every site exists in the Active Directory platform where Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or 2003 will be installed. Migration of Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 or 2003 will then be simple. When all the mailboxes have been moved, operations will carry on normally with little noticeable effect on end users.
Suggested fix if you are experiencing adcadmin.dll error messages:
DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. This uses less system memory and helps your computer system run more efficiently. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write new code for each program.
There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when one of them is damaged or missing it will cause program crashes and poor system performance.
To fix these problems the user must replace the damaged file with a valid working version. If a working version cannot be found the user may perform a reinstallation of their operating system.
