Cd.dll PC Error Solution

The cd.dll module was created by United Admins, whose primary purpose falls under these categories: Windows, Gaming and Utilities.

With a small file size of 81,920 bytes, the cd.dll file consumes only a small portion of the computer’s physical memory. Two dependencies of the file cd.dll are kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll. Without these two DLLs, the cd.dll module simply wouldn’t work.

Cheating-Death, or simply C-D, is anti-cheat software that houses the file cd.dll as well as other DLL files needed for it to work. Such software includes both a server and client and thus, offers more protection by preemptively scanning for and blocking code resembling the syntax of known cheats before a certain player even joins the server. The cd.dll file is very helpful in C-D since while in optional mode, players are checked for a working Cheating-Death client.

Also, for optimal protection against cheaters, servers can actually be configured, with the use of the module cd.dll, to only allow players running the C-D client. Gamers, specifically those who play Counterstrike and Half-Life, usually use C-D.

How does C-D work? A person’s computer is known as a client, responsible for getting keyboard and mouse commands. The client connects itself to a server, which keeps track of all the clients. The client is composed of two parts – the engine and the client MOD. The engine handles communication between the server as well as the task of receiving keyboard and mouse input.

The MOD handles anything specifically related to the game the user is playing. There will be one MOD for each game on the machine but only one engine (e.g., one MOD for Half-Life and another for Counter-Strike, but both use the same engine). The engine and the MOD interact with each other to make the game run on your machine. The way C-D works is that it wedges itself in between the engine and the MOD. The engine talks to the cheat, specifically C-D, the cheat relays it on to the MOD, and vice-versa.

This communication between C-D and the engine plus C-D and the MOD is where the role of the module cd.dll is crucial. The cd.dll file enables this communication process to push through with the set of modules it contains. What makes C-D different than most anti-cheat software is that it does not run as a separate program outside of the game, but is actually loaded into the game.

What is a DLL?

Your operating system comes pre-installed with Microsoft DLL’s and most third party programs also install DLL’s.

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) is Microsoft’s implementation of the shared library concept. Meaning there’s a DLL library on your computer and each DLL can be shared among different Microsoft and third party programs. This shared library method helps your computer run faster by having fewer operations running at the same time.

When a DLL is missing or corrupt it may show an error message and programs may fail or crash.

Because DLL’s are shared, one missing or corrupt DLL may affect multiple programs on your computer.
