We Solve Converter.dll Problems

The Adobe Captivate formerly known as Macromedia Captivate is an electronic learning tool and screen capture program originally named RoboDemo. It can be used to author software demonstrations, software simulations, branched scenarios and randomized quizzes in the SWF format.

One of the best aspects of the Adobe Captivate is the conversion method implemented by the converter.dll module. This module contains the following functions:

* Convert

* GetVersion

* ConversionMayBeRequired

When an Adobe Captivate project is exported into the Adobe Macromedia Flash, it is imported directly to the Stage or into the converter.dll library as a movie clip. The imported project contains layers for each type of object and appropriate Flash methods are used to enable any Adobe Captivate special effects such as tweens to move the mouse pointer.

The Flash Library panel shows all objects created for the Adobe Captivate project, organized logically into folders.

Most elements in the projects are converted so that they look and operate the same in Flash as in Adobe Captivate. However, there are a few exceptions to this conversion method, such as:

* Advanced compression

* 508 compliance

* Slide transitions (fade between slides)

* Real-time synchronization

During upgrade, the Adobe Captivate Project (.CP extension) must be converted to the newly installed version of the software. This is implemented by the converter.dll module. Once the project is converted it can no longer be opened in the previous version of Adobe Captivate. Even the Caption Style that the project contains is converted to the default caption style.

In order to use the original caption style, the converter.dll file allows you to copy the captions from the current location into the Adobe Captivate Gallery folder. From within the project the original caption style can be applied to the appropriate captions. The same process is done if the PlaybackControl style has been changed and cannot be found in the Gallery folder.

What is a DLL?

Your operating system comes pre-installed with Microsoft DLL’s and most third party programs also install DLL’s.

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) is Microsoft’s implementation of the shared library concept. Meaning there’s a DLL library on your computer and each DLL can be shared among different Microsoft and third party programs. This shared library method helps your computer run faster by having fewer operations running at the same time.

When a DLL is missing or corrupt it may show an error message and programs may fail or crash.

Because DLL’s are shared, one missing or corrupt DLL may affect multiple programs on your computer.
