What is a DLL?
DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by several programs at the same time. This uses less memory and helps increase system efficiency. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to multiple programs without the need to write all new code for each one.
There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when one is corrupted or missing it causes program crashes and poor system performance.
What is credui.dll?
Credui.dll provides an environment for the Windows credential manager which is an SSO (Single Sign-On) solution for users to interact with the system. SSO deals with multiple sets of user account information to lessen the time a user spends in performing log-on tasks. The stored and shared account information handled by the Credential Manager represents data used in accessing resources on the users behalf.
Credui.dll supports several functions including reading, storing, and parsing user names and passwords, prompting previously used account information, and confirming the account information that needs to be used. This program is often used with logging into social media sites like Facebook and Myspace as well as Email sites like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and the like.
