Solution for Dsuiwiz.dll Error Problems

The file dsuiwiz.dll contains the delegation of Control Wizard. This module is used by the Windows Server 2003. Delegation is used when a specific task in the Active Directory is assigned to a user (non-administrators) along with it is the assignment of specific rights as well. DACL or Discretionary access control lists provides the support to fully control the objects in the active directory.

The permissions for DACL includes read, write, total control, create and delete child objects and other special permissions.

The module dsuiwiz.dll centers on the desired result instead of the process used by DACL. What is required is for the user to be given permission to perform and automatically the control wizard will change the DACL so that this user will be granted permission to perform a different task.

When the module dsuiwiz.dll is installed right clicking a container in the Active Directory list and selecting delegate control can access the delegation of control wizard. After clicking on the option ‘Next’ at the welcome window the wizard will start providing different options. The option to choose tasks from the list or to create a new task can then be performed.

It should be noted however that the Delegation of Control Wizard could only be used to give additional permissions and not delete permissions. If permissions needed to be removed manually changing the DACL is needed.

The Delegation of Control Wizard can be run either at the organization level or at the administrative group level. It is advised to simply create a security group and from there give control to that security group. Using this technique will make sure that the users have the proper administrative rights and not exceed the appropriate rights.

What is a DLL?

Your operating system comes pre-installed with Microsoft DLL’s and most third party programs also install DLL’s.

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) is Microsoft’s implementation of the shared library concept. Meaning there’s a DLL library on your computer and each DLL can be shared among different Microsoft and third party programs. This shared library method helps your computer run faster by having fewer operations running at the same time.

When a DLL is missing or corrupt it may show an error message and programs may fail or crash.

Because DLL’s are shared, one missing or corrupt DLL may affect multiple programs on your computer.
