Error Fix For gdiplus.dll
What is a DLL?
DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write new code for each program.
There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when one of them is damaged or missing it will cause program crashes and poor system performance.
What is gdiplus.dll?
Gdiplus.dll is a graphical library that was introduced to the Windows operating system in 2001 to make 2D (two dimensional) drawing easier. Gdiplus.dll contains two main components. A flat C API (Application Programming Interface) where the main functions of the program are and C++ wrappers that are found in public headers connected to gdiplus.dll. Gdiplus.dll is a class based API for C and C++ which gives applications the ability to use graphics and formatted text in both video display and with a printer.
The gdiplus.dll file is sometimes called the Graphical Device Interface (GDI) and is one of three core components for the user interface which is the GDI Windows manager. The .NET class library provides a managed interface for gdiplus.dll using the System Drawing namespace.
The GDI is an improved 2D graphics environment. It adds advanced features such as anti-aliased 2D graphics, floating point coordinates, gradient shading, more complex path management, and intrinsic support for modern graphics-file formats like JPEG and PNG. The module gdiplus.dll uses ARGB values to represent color. Use of these features is apparent in Windows XP’s user interface, and their presence in the basic graphics layer greatly simplifies implementations of vector-graphics systems such as Flash or SVG. This DLL can be shipped with an application and used under older versions of Windows.
A common premise of the gdiplus.dll is the integration of 2D and 3D from the application programming interface (API) to the device driver interface (DDI). The gdiplus.dll application will use existing 2D and 3D hardware acceleration capabilities by leveraging the Direct3D command stream for all hardware acceleration. Gdiplus.dll will share a common driver interface with Direct3D by using a mixture of D3D and GDI command tokens for all its rendering.
In purpose and structure the gdiplus.dll program file is similar to Apple’s Quartz 2D subsystem, and the open-source libart and Cairo libraries.
Suggested fix if you are experiencing gdiplus.dll error messages:
DLL files are an important part of the Windows operating system and many programs depend on them to function. When these files become corrupted or are missing it will cause poor system performance and often times will cause system crashes. To fix these problems the user must replace the damaged or missing DLL with a valid working copy. If a valid version of the DLL cannot be found the user may also reinstall their operating system or the program that the DLL came packaged with.
