What is a DLL?
Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. This uses less memory and helps make your system more efficient. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write all new code for each one.
There are many programs that depend on DLL files to function properly so when one is damaged or missing it causes program errors and poor system performance.
What is mprapi.dll?
Mprapi.dll is a file that contains code to support multiple network protocols at the same time. As an example accessing a Windows and a Novell network at the same time. Mprapi.dll is known as the Multiple Provider Router Administration file for Windows and is related to the mpr.dll.
Mprapi.dll includes code to support a network Application Programming Interface (API) that provides a common interface for applications. This interface combines all common network functions into a single module instead of running multiple modules with similar functions and code. Because this is a DLL file it is shared by several applications allowing them to use less memory and run much more efficiently.
Mprapi.dll provides reliable handling of user account login requirements across multiple networks. This is done by dividing network resources, using functions to create and break network connections, report errors, access a password cache, and prompt a user for login information.
The features common to all networks are implemented in the MPR which reduces the code base of each network provider and insures compatible behavior between networks. Each network provider is a DLL that starts the SPI. It should be noted that the network provider protocols do not have to start every function in the SPI but instead can implement a subset of functions to meet the needs of the network. SPI functions supported in a network provider include user identification, device redirection, operating system shell interface, authentication, and configuration functions.
Suggested fix if you are receiving mprapi.dll error messages:
DLL files are needed by many programs and system functions so when one of them is corrupted or missing it causes system errors and crashes. To fix these problems the user will need to replace the damaged or missing file with a working version. If you can not find a working version of the DLL you may also reinstall your operating system.
