What is a DLL?
DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write new code for each program.
Many programs rely on DLL files to run properly so when one becomes corrupted or is missing it will lead to program crashes and poor system performance.
What is mscoree.dll?
Mscoree.dll is a runtime execution engine that contains the Microsoft’s .NET (Dot Net) framework functions. Other functions of the .NET framework are the Base Class Library (BCL) and the Framework Class Library (FCL). Mscoree.dll communicates with these libraries to handle a number of common functions such as graphic rendering, database interaction, and XML document manipulation.
The BCL and FCL libraries are used by programers by combining their own code with them to produce programs. Mscoree.dll uses the functions of the .NET framework to simplify the installation of computer software. The mscoree.dll file also manages program runtime requirements known as Common Language Runtime (CLR). CLR helps with important services like security mechanisms, exception handling, and memory management.
