odbc32.dll Error Fix

The Dynamic Link Library odbc32.dll incorporates program codes used by the computer system to access databases using the Microsoft Open Data Base Connectivity standard methods in 32-bit platforms. This DLL is installed with one or more libraries in the Windows operating system.

Odbc32.dll registers proprietary rights to Microsoft Corporation. It comprises the Microsoft ADO/ODBC Drivers. Among its associated applications are msorcl32.dll, odbcbcp.dll, odbcint.dll, odbcjt32.dll, sqlsrv32.dll, and vfpodbc.dll. The latest version of the odbc32.dll file uses a medium range physical memory of 244 Kilobytes and is considered to be a background dynamic link library.

The Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) interface by Microsoft permits other applications the right to use data in its database management systems (DBMS). This permission makes use of SQL as a standard for accessing the data using the odbc32.dll program support.

The module odbc32.dll allows maximum interoperability which is understood that a single application can access multiple DBMS. Application end users can then add ODBC drivers to link the odbc32.dll application to their choice of DBMS.

The odbc32.dll file provides a standard interface to consent to application constructors and vendors of database drivers to swap data between applications and data sources. The odbc32.dll module is also an integral part of the Microsoft Data Access Components (commonly abbreviated MDAC).

MDAC is a framework of interrelated Microsoft technologies that allows programmers a unified and extensive way of designing applications that can get through almost any data store.

Since its inception in 1992 ODBC has rapidly become the industry standard interface for developing database-independent applications. It is basically composed of two important components: the ODBC Driver Manager which is an application that binds to the odbc32.dll module and responsible for loading the requested ODBC driver and the ODBC driver which is dynamically loaded by the ODBC driver manager for making connection to target database.

What is a DLL?

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. This uses less system memory and helps your computer system run more efficiently. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write new code for each program.

There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when one of them is damaged or missing it will cause program crashes and poor system performance.

Recommended fix if you are experiencing odbc32.dll error messages:

DLL files are important parts of your operating system and many programs require them to function. When these files become damaged or are missing it causes poor system performance and system crashes. To fix these problems the user must replace the damaged file with a valid working version. If a working version cannot be found the user may perform a reinstallation of their operating system.
