olecli32.dll Error Fix Download

The olecli32.dll program is used with the Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) Client. The program works with olecli.dll module which is also used in OLE client programs and applications. The libraries are used to simplify applications. Between the olecli32.dll program and an OLE client application a bidirectional or two-way communication takes place.

The functions of the olecli32.dll program are used to perform OLE tasks and processes such as object creation, loading, rendering, and saving. The application-defined call back function of the program is used to transmit status information to the application. The status information or data covers notification that an object has been modified, renamed, or saved with the use of an OLE server program.

The OLE enables applications to generate compound documents with information obtained from a variety of sources. The use of OLE enables an object to be embedded in a word processor while maintaining its original format. The olecli32.dll module is used to make this work. The module is also required by an application that uses OLE Client components to load Windows texts and run graphics editors.

The use of OLE with the help of the olecli32.dll module makes it convenient for certain programs to display images or graphic data that a host application can’t create. For instance a pie chart or a bar graph from Microsoft Excel will be loaded and displayed in Microsoft Word which does not offer any feature of that kind. With OLE and its libraries the pasted data will still have its original specifications.

The olecli32.dll module contains the OleClose and OleDelete functions. The function OleClose is used to close an object while the OleDelete closes the object as well but also frees the memory associated with the object reclaiming its storage. By calling the OleDelete function the olecli32.dll file notifies the specified object that it is no longer part of the client document.

Since the dynamic data exchange (DDE) is the underlying information transport mechanism for the olecli32.dll protocol closing an object simply terminates the DDE conversation between the OLE client and the OLE server. Calling the OleReconnect function of the olecli32.dll file can restart this conversation. Performing a reconnect is valid only for linked objects that are already open in their server and attempting to reconnect to an object that is not open in its server will fail.

What is a DLL?

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time. This uses less system memory and helps your computer system run more efficiently. DLL files give program developers the ability to reuse code to add features to several programs without the need to write new code for each program.

There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when one of them is damaged or missing it will cause program crashes and poor system performance.

Recommended fix if you are experiencing olecli32.dll error messages

To fix these problems the user must replace the damaged file with a valid working version. If a working version cannot be found the user may perform a reinstallation of their operating system.
