Fix For oledlg.dll Errors

What is a DLL?

DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files contain computer code and resources that can be used by multiple programs at the same time to perform similar functions. This uses less system memory and makes your system run more efficiently. DLL files gives program developers the ability to add features to several programs without the need to write all new code for each one.

There are many programs that require DLL files to function properly so when they are missing or damaged it causes program crashes and poor system performance.

What is oledlg.dll?

Oledlg.dll contains core OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) tasks which allow items created in one application to be embedded in documents created by a different application. One example of this is when an Excel document needs to be incorporated into a Word document without losing the Excel format. For developers the oledlg.dll gives them a way for OLE Customer Controls (OCX) to build on and make use of custom user interface elements. The oledlg.dll system also gives the program editor the ability to transfer part of a document to another program for editing then reimport it to the original program.

Whenever a desktop publishing software wants to send text to a word processor or a picture to a bitmap editor the system calls the oledlg.dll into action. Oledlg.dll is also needed for transferring data between different applications using drag and drop as well as clipboard operations. If the user wants to have an object saved on the clipboard or embedded into a document the oledlg.dll file allows both a visual representation in native Windows formats as well as the underlying data in its own format to be saved and moved. The oledlg.dll gives applications the ability to display and edit objects (text or images) without the need to launch the application that was used to create the object.
