Luke The Screen Washer isn’t in and of itself an adware program.  It is technically a screen saver showing a character named “Luke” washing the inside of your monitor.  It is a product of Best Offers Networks, formerly known as Direct Revenue, LLC.  Direct Revenue was affiliated with Soho Digital, and is a well-known developer of spyware  programs.  It is now defunct after several court cases involving spam and spyware abuse.  All the same, the spyware they developed is still considered a threat and it exists “in the wild.”

Luke The Screen Washer, while not an adware program itself, comes bundled with spyware programs.  According to the End User Licensing Agreement from Best Offers Networks, by downloading Luke the Screen Washer, the user agrees to Best Offers scanning their computer for data regarding browsing habits and to accept pop-up advertisements.  They further suggest using Add/Remove Programs instead of antispyware programs to remove Luke the Screen Washer.

While Add/Remove Programs will remove the Luke the Screen Washer program, it will not remove the spyware associated with it.  You will still receive pop-up advertising long after you remove Luke the Screen Washer this way.  To effectively and safely remove the spyware associated with this program, you should use an effective antispyware program.  We suggest that you use ZookaWare PC Cleaner to remove the spyware files from your computer.
