DSrch – Not a Match for ZookaWare PC Cleaner
Today I would like to share the information my research on a new threat has turned up. I do research on threats to your computer because as a computer professional, I am offended by the people who make programs that create problems for the computer user and damage the integrity of your operating system. I also need to know what threats exist so that I can counter them when computer users who depend on me become infected with them. The threat I will be talking about today is DSrch.
The main symptom of DSrch is pop-ups and pop-unders. You will also experience Web search redirection to advertisers’ sites and changes to your Web browser settings. Adware programs behave like this quite often these days. While adware used to just be an annoyance, this is no longer the case. These days, adware programs have escalated to become a threat to your computer’s well being. In the case of Dsrch, a hole is opened in your computer’s security which opens the way for more Trojans and malware, spyware, and adware to infect your computer. Not only that, but your Web browsing activity is monitored and sent to a parent server for marketing and advertising purposes. This means that they collect data on your habits and send you advertisements relating more directly to your Web activity.
Removal of DSrch is something people are having a problem with. When attempting to remove DSrch via “Add or Remove Programs,” people are quickly finding that on reboot the program is there as if they never tried to uninstall it. Manually removing the program can be time consuming. If you delete the wrong file you can make Windows stop responding properly, and if you miss a file, DSrch reinstalls itself.
There is an easy answer to removing DSrch though. There is a program that came out onto the market in January of 2008 that gives you a 100% removal guarantee. This program is ZookaWare PC Cleaner. Not only will ZookaWare PC Cleaner fully remove DSrch, but it is very user friendly and easy to use.
