MyContentAssistant

MyContentAssistant may sound harmless but it is a particularly annoying bogus security program.  When this phony program has infiltrated your PC, you will soon become inundated with pop-ups.  These pop-ups are designed to be difficult to close and may be the cause of much consternation because of it.

You may have become infected with MyContentAssistant through a security loophole in your browser or you may have picked it up from a bundled software program.  This annoying program will generate a never-ending display of false alerts, warnings and infection notifications.  All are to be ignored because all are false.

In addition, MyContentAssistant works in conjunction with an affiliate program, softwareprofit dot com (DO NOT GO HERE).  Participants will share in the profits of each sale that is generated.

This program will startup each time you start Windows and will communicate with a statistic tracking server in order to gather data for its affiliate program.

Beware of the constant requests to purchase the “full version” or the “license” for this program because doing so will bring you absolutely nothing.  Because MyContentAssistant is a fake, a “full version” of the program will never materialize.  Use caution and do not be duped by this rogue program.

I downloaded some shareware and accidentally ended up with MyContentAssistant on my PC. I can’t get rid of it. I decided to download SpyZooka’s remover when I couldn’t stand the pop-ups and I realized that the license they ask me for is a fake. At least I know that my money are safe now and the computer is okay.
