It’s bad enough that there are rogue anti-spyware programs all over the internet, but when you start having to deal with clones of rogue anti-spyware programs you start to wonder if you’re losing your sanity. There is no pot of gold at the end of the AntiSpyGolden rainbow. Just problems. AntiSpyGolden is actually a clone of AntiVirusGold and AntiVirusGolden and it is associated with other rogue programs that come from IP address 188.8.131.52. This IP address is hosted out of the Ukraine and the domain is registered in the Netherlands.
How did this thing get on my computer?
AntiSpyGolden probably slipped onto your computer through a browser hole, security issue, or on the back of a Trojan virus. It will load itself – namely the trial version – onto your computer without your permission and then start loading pop-ups onto your computer screen usually faster than you can close them. These pop-ups are informing you that your computer is not protected, infected with malicious programs and that it is the only thing that can remove them from your system.
Rogue anti-spyware programs are basically confidence tricks that are used to get your money and nothing else. The programmers and developers do not care that your computer is now unprotected. All they care about is the $30 or $40 they just ripped off of you. If you resist the lure and do not fall into the trap of buying the full blown program, you’re definitely ahead of the game. If you purchase the program, you’re in for a long haul.
Uh-oh. What does this thing do to my computer?
The short list is that it will hijack your computer system until it will no longer run. Once the fully licensed program is loaded onto your computer, it will allow other malicious programs in through the security gaps AntiSpyGolden is holding open. Viruses can also get in this way as well as hackers who can damage your system as much as these programs will. It will change your registry settings, change your Internet browser settings, shut down your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, and more. The longer you let AntiSpyGolden run on your system, the more damage it is ultimately going to do to your system.
Um…how do I get it off my computer?
The best thing to do is to put your computer in safe mode and download a legitimate anti-spyware program like ZookaWare PC Cleaner. More than likely your anti-spyware program has been corrupted and ZookaWare PC Cleaner is updated with all the newest information on the most current rogue programs out there. ZookaWare PC Cleaner will uninstall the rogue anti-spyware program safely from your computer and repair your registries. It is better that you use a program like this to remove AntiSpyGolden than to try and remove the individual files one by one.
After you have removed the AntiSpyGolden program, update and run your anti-virus program to make sure there is no Trojan or other types of viruses left on your computer. If you leave the viruses on your computer, you are just leaving your computer open to the situation happening again.
