The virus MSN Names

For those who frequently use MSN messenger to chat, it is important that you take note of this virus that infects MSN messengers. Once a computer or laptop is infected, the virus will send copies of itself to every contact that is online on the infected user’s list of contacts. You will get a recurring message on MSN that says “I got my MSN Names from http://www.IM-Names.com, they’re free!”. Once you click the link, a window of the Internet Explorer will be opened and you will be prompted to download a file with the name photo656.pif or a similar .pif file. If you would run this, your computer will be infected. The virus will also install a toolbar to your Internet explorer window called “Toolbar888â€Â.
Here is a way to delete the MSN virus.

Go to Start and then Click on Control Panel, then click on Add/Remove Programs.
Look for theToolbar888 and click on the “Change/Remove”button to be able to uninstall the virus.

Press CTRL, ALT and DELETE all at the same time to view the “Process†Tab. If you find any of the following files, highlight the name and click the button “End Process”to each of the .exe files you see.

·    loadadv455.exe
·    drsmartload.exe
·    goll.exe
·    two.exe
·    vcncr.exe
·    rorjxk.exe
·    eyewblbby.exe
·    cgqrvrva.exe
Look for the following folders and delete the folders along with their contents.
·    C:\Program Files\Common Files\{28676FB5-0AE9-3081-1205-03030930003d}\
·    C:\Program Files\Common Files\{38676FB5-0AE9-3081-1205-03030930003d}\
In the folders: C:\Windows\system32\ and C:\Documents and Settings\[current user]
(replace [current user] with the name you are currently logged on as, delete the following files:
·    ·    drv.exe
·    goll.exe
·    loadadv455.exe
·    one.exe
·    two.exe
In the folder: C:\ , delete the following files. Find and Delete:
·    ·    goll.exe
·    drv.exe
·    loadadv455.exe
·    one.exe
·    two.exe
·    drsmartload.exe

After deleting the files, make sure that you update your anti virus and anti spyware softwares to ensure that you will have a clean computer. Run a full system scan to get rid of any remaining files. After which you can reinstall MSN Messenger.
