Web3000 Detection and Removal
Web3000 is an insidious, hard-to-get-rid-of program that analyzes virtually everything you do on the Internet. It analyzes not only the number of users on your computer and the sites they visit, but also analyzes how much time they spend there, and even takes into account incoming web addresses!
Its adware component may display headlines on your browser, put page-sized ads over pages you try and visit online, or send an ad to the bottom right-hand corner of Microsoft Internet Explorer. It may even send fake text messages that will appear in the upper right-hand corner of your browser!
Web3000 has a spyware and an adware application. They each run independently of each other, so that getting rid of one won’t necessarily rid you of the other.
Web3000 may also replace winsock32.dll and other Windows system files. We HIGHLY recommend you do not try to fix or delete these files on your own, as you may irreparably damage Windows and need to reload your entire operating system.
We highly recommend ZookaWare PC Cleaner to manage this threat and prevent it from returning. Even if you do not take our recommendation, please make sure and obtain some sort of anti-spyware program, as Web3000 is virtually impossible to get rid of on your own.
